Just A Few Landmarks in Downtown Chicago (the "Loop")

This is where we start our photoblog "walking tour."

This is the famous Marshall Fields clock (now it's Macy's on State Street).

...and with the equally famous and easily recognizable historic Chicago Theater marquee in the background.

It is still a landmark on State Street although it's already Macy's now.

This is particularly special and meaningful to me as a Filipino-American.

The Bataan-Corregidor Memorial bridge.

And there's the Bataan-Corregidor bridge again when it opens up to let tall ships pass by down the Chicago River below it.

"Riverwalk" stroll anyone?

It's one of the famous landmarks in the Magnificent Mile.

Can you see the John Hancock building in the background?

There it is... the John Hancock building up close. The "home" of the popular 95th Signature Room (a restaurant with a spectacular view!).

...and with the equally famous Water Tower Place on the foreground.

Another welcome addition to the gorgeous Chicago skyline: the Trump Tower.

And of course, the famous Sears Tower up close (it's now called the Willis Tower). It's one of the tallest buildings in the world but I don't know which rank it is at right now. There's just too many towers and buildings "cropping up" everywhere in the world that I've already lost count!

When you look at a panoramic photo of the Chicago skyline, this is the conspicuous red building you see every time. It's the CNA building. And no, it's not made of bricks. Its facade is made of a red metal (iron?) material.

The Harold Washington Library. One of the biggest (if not The biggest) in the city.

A weird-formed structure. This is the House of Blues venue.

And of course, the Chicago Theatre District!

This is the Chicago Cadillac Palace Theater. (Sorry, I cropped off the top of this photo.)

We have a number of TV stations in downtown Chicago. This one is ABC Channel 7.

You decide: is it a horse, a hound, or a baboon's head? This is the famous Picasso sculpture towering over at the Daley Plaza.

One of the city of Chicago's "corporate" taglines: "Go Do Good!"

And how would you navigate this beautiful city? Take the "hop-on, hop-off" trolleys. It goes around pretty well enough.

And the last one, but definitely not the least, the Chicago Board of Trade building on La Salle Street, one of my most favorite spots in the city.

Thanks for the visit to my photo blog. 'Til next time... God bless us all!
